1. Introduction
For engineering and technology students, an internship can be a good way to understand how the subjects studied in college are actually used in the workplace. This becomes even more useful in areas such as networking, cybersecurity, cloud computing and automation, where practical knowledge matters a lot.
The Cisco Networking Academy × AICTE programme is one such opportunity available through the AICTE National Internship Portal. The programme focuses on digital skills and gives students an opportunity to explore areas including networking, cybersecurity, cloud, IoT and DevNet automation.
The programme is especially relevant for students who want to build a career in IT, networking or cybersecurity and are looking for practical exposure along with industry-oriented learning.

What Is the Cisco Networking Academy × AICTE Programme?
The Cisco Networking Academy × AICTE programme connects Cisco Networking Academy learning and internship opportunities with the AICTE National Internship Portal.
The idea is quite simple: students should get exposure to technologies that are actually used in professional IT environments rather than learning everything only from textbooks.
The programme information mentions practical work through Cisco lab environments such as Packet Tracer, DNA Center and real enterprise networking hardware.
This can be useful for students who want to understand how networks are designed, managed and secured.
Another important point is that students can use their existing AICTE profile. The programme information says there is no need for a separate Cisco registration or a second document upload for each posting.
-
Cisco Internship Portal
Cisco-related internship opportunities can be checked through the AICTE National Internship Portal.
The portal allows students to search for Cisco internships and check the details of individual postings before applying.
Students can use the official Cisco internship page to see available opportunities:

Cisco Internship List
The Cisco programme page currently shows 18 internship postings in its programme information. However, availability is important.
The supplied dashboard information shows:
- 18 postings
- 0 open postings
- 1,90,165 advertised seats
- 4 organisations
- Opportunities spread across 2 states/UTs
Therefore, students should distinguish between a posting that appears in the programme database and an internship that is currently open for applications.
The official Cisco page says that verified postings from Cisco partner organisations are refreshed as new cohorts open seats. It also indicates that the next cohort is expected to open shortly.
This makes it worthwhile for interested students to complete their AICTE profile in advance.
Be First in the Queue for the Next Cisco Internship
If you are interested in a Cisco internship but there is no open seat at the moment, you can prepare your AICTE profile in advance. When a Cisco partner organisation publishes its next internship cohort, having a completed profile can make the application process quicker.
The programme information encourages students to create or complete their AICTE profile now so they can apply through their existing profile when a new Cisco opportunity becomes available.
Students can also keep the following points in mind:
- Official Cisco × AICTE programme
- QR-verified Cisco Networking Academy certificate
- One AICTE profile for internships from different ministries and partner organisations

Selected Cisco Internship Opportunities and Details
Cisco-related opportunities on the AICTE portal are published through Cisco partner organisations.
Instead of assuming that every internship has the same requirements, students should check each posting separately.
Important details to look for include:
| Details to Check | What Students Should Look For |
| Organisation | Cisco partner organisation |
| Technology | Networking, cybersecurity, cloud, IoT, etc. |
| Eligibility | Branch, qualification and other requirements |
| Duration | Mentioned in individual posting |
| Stipend | Depends on the posting |
| Location | Depends on the opportunity |
| Selection | Decided according to the posting |
| Certificate | Cisco Networking Academy certificate, where applicable |
| Last Date | Check before applying |
The programme itself states that selection, duration and stipend are decided according to the individual posting published by the Cisco partner firm.
-
Stipend, Duration, Certificates and Location
Stipend
There is no single fixed stipend for every Cisco internship.
The stipend, where offered, depends on the individual internship posting and the partner organisation.
Students should therefore avoid relying on a general stipend figure and should check the actual posting before applying.
Duration
The programme information gives two broad formats:
- Short-term internships: around 4–6 weeks
- Project-linked placements: around 2–6 months
The exact internship period will be mentioned in the individual posting.
Certificate
Students who successfully complete an eligible internship can receive a QR-verifiable Cisco Networking Academy certificate connected with the selected posting.
A certificate is useful, but students should also focus on the skills and practical work gained during the internship.
Location
The location depends on the particular internship.
Students should check whether the opportunity is on-site, remote or has another working arrangement before applying.
